Foundation Wealth Management was founded to break from outdated Wall Street practices that prioritize profit over people. Led by Burt Hutchinson, Paul LaViola, and Stephen McDade, we deliver honest, transparent, and client-focused guidance at a flat fee.

Foundation Wealth Management is a “Fee-Only” advisor and serves as a fiduciary to all clients, which means we are required to put client interests ahead of our own at all times.

FWM is a “Fee-Only” advisor and serves as a fiduciary to all clients 100% of the time. This is in stark contrast to the traditional Wall Street firms. Here’s the difference:

  • Fee-Only – Held to a Fiduciary Standard 100% of the time (there are no exceptions)

  • Fee-Based – Held to a Fiduciary standard some of the time. Their dual registration allows them to work as commissioned salespeople who “represent” insurance or brokerage companies and sell their financial products.
    • When they recommend products, they are not held to a fiduciary standard but instead to the lower “suitability standard”.
    • If you see fee-based as opposed to fee-only beware!

While many advisors can be a fiduciary, you want to make sure they are a Fiduciary 100% of the time. At Foundation Wealth Management, we accept no compensation other than your advisory fee to better focus on recommendations that we believe are most beneficial to you. You hire us to work directly and exclusively for you.

As a “Fee-Only” fiduciary advisor, Foundation Wealth Management never takes custody or possession of our clients’ assets. Instead, our clients’ accounts are held at Charles Schwab, an independent third-party custodian. As part of our implementation process, we will open accounts for you at Charles Schwab. We will assist with the operations at all stages along the process, including opening, transferring, and funding.

We offer a flat fee for financial planning and investment management. The flat annual fee is billed in quarterly increments. Our fee is withdrawn directly from your accounts that we would help you establish at Charles Schwab.

We are 100% independent, and 100% employee owned with no desire to operate like a traditional wall street advisor. There is a concerning trend in the financial advisory industry where private equity companies buy and own parts of, or entire financial advisory firms.

We answer directly to our clients, not to a third-party entity motivated by increasing profits. We strive to run a firm that focuses on taking care of our clients.

We work using a team approach. While you will be primarily communicating with a Wealth Manager in an office near you, throughout our relationship you will be in contact and work with various members of the Foundation Wealth team.

While we do believe there is value in meeting face-to-face, we understand that our clients live busy lives. We are available to meet virtually with you over Zoom.

We organized our firm and the services we offer to work exclusively with individuals and families on an ongoing basis. This focus allows our clients to take full advantage of all our services and we are better able to serve them. Therefore we do not provide hourly or one-time financial planning.

We partner with individuals and families who value thoughtful planning and financial discipline; providing tailored strategies to build, prepare, or enjoy wealth at every stage of life.
