Burt Hutchinson began his professional journey as a lineman for Delmarva Power, but an investing book changed his path. He realized that sound financial advice could give people the confidence and security to fully enjoy their lives—including retirement. Motivated by this, he pursued expertise in financial planning to help others make informed financial decisions.
After earning his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, Burt worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the “Big Four” accounting firms. However, he soon realized he wanted to work directly with individuals and families, rather than corporations. This led him to establish Integrated Wealth Management, a fee-only, independent advisory firm that he successfully ran for 20 years. His goal was simple: provide the financial building blocks that empower clients to make smart, confident choices.
In July 2024, Burt joined Foundation Wealth Management, LLC, partnering with like-minded professionals who share his values of transparency, integrity, and client-first service.
Burt is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he received his B.S. in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ PRACTIONER. Burt was an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware where he taught undergraduate courses in accounting.
Mr. Hutchinson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accounts (DSCPA). He is also a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). In addition, Burt is a NAPFA Registered Advisor and subscribes to the stringent and mandatory annual educational hours, experience and code of ethics to meet the requirements.
Burt and his wife, Kimi are residents of Lewes, DE. They have an adult daughter, Taylor, who is pursuing a career in accounting in Philadelphia. When not in the office, Burt and Kimi are usually playing golf or hitting the gym. As a family, they enjoy traveling and being foodies. The Hutchinson’s take pride in their community and enjoy supporting local charities focused on children and education.
